What is CheckYout?

CheckYout is a check-out notification system for vacation rentals. When leaving, your guest simply scans the QR code on the door sign – and you and your cleaning team are instantly notified via WhatsApp or email.

Does the guest need to install an app?

Accepted Answer

No. The guest scans the QR code with their phone camera – everything runs directly in the browser. Just scan and click.

Can I try CheckYout without a physical sign?

Accepted Answer

Yes. When you sign up you can create a virtual sign. You get a QR code to print or scan directly on your phone. All features are identical. For a more professional guest experience, there's also the wooden sign – optional and compatible with any plan.

Does CheckYout work with Booking.com without a PMS?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You don’t need Smoobu or any other PMS. CheckYout works independently: the guest scans, your team gets notified. If you do have a PMS integration, you can additionally sync guest names and check-out times automatically.

What happens if a guest doesn’t scan the QR code?

Accepted Answer

Nothing – the notification simply doesn’t arrive. You’ll find out through the usual channels instead. In practice, most guests scan when the QR code is placed visibly and the check-out page is simple. CheckYout also shows you in the dashboard which guests haven’t checked out (yet).

Can I manage multiple Booking.com properties?

Yes. The CheckYout plan (CHF 18/mo, or CHF 15/mo billed yearly) includes the first property with the full feature set. Each additional property is tiered: CHF 10/mo (2nd–5th), CHF 8 (6th–15th), CHF 6 (from the 16th). Smart Home is available as an optional add-on for CHF 9.90/mo.

What if the guest doesn’t check out?

CheckYout does not replace regular communication with your guest. It is an additional tool that simplifies the process. If a guest doesn’t scan, you can act as usual at the scheduled check-out time.Tip: Mention scanning the QR code in your check-out instructions – e.g. in your guest folder, your Airbnb/Booking description, or in your pre-departure message. This way your guests know about it and the scan rate increases significantly.
