Does CheckYout lock the door after check-out?

No. Locking up on the way out stays with the guest, or runs through the auto-lock feature of your Nuki lock, which works independently of us. We deliberately leave that alone because someone might still be inside the property at the check-out scan.

What if I do not have a PMS?

Then earlier check-in does not work. Without a PMS, CheckYout does not know who your guest is today. You can still connect Nuki to control the lock from the dashboard and see its status.

Do I need the Nuki Bridge?

Yes, except on the Pro, where it is built in. Without a bridge the lock cannot be reached over the cloud.

What happens if Nuki is offline?

The CheckYout check-out flow keeps running as normal. We retry the access activation once. If that fails, you see the error in the dashboard. Your guest then gets in at the regular check-in time.

Can I connect multiple Nuki accounts?

Yes. One account per property is the usual setup when your locks live in different accounts.

Are my Nuki credentials secure?

We connect via OAuth, so we never see your password. The tokens are stored encrypted in our database in Frankfurt.

How the turnover works with Nuki and CheckYout

Last night a guest checked out. This morning your cleaning team arrives, gets the place ready, says "done". From there CheckYout takes care of the rest: the Nuki access for the next guest is active right away. He does not have to wait in the café around the corner until it is officially 4 p.m.

Earlier check-in only works when CheckYout knows who your guest is today. That is why it needs a connected PMS: Smoobu, Guesty, Lodgify, Hostaway or Beds24. Without a PMS you can still view and control Nuki in the dashboard, but the automatic access window falls away.

A Nuki Smart Lock with Bridge
